FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
February 27, 2018
Guthrie Public Schools has been made aware of many reports on social media of planned violence at our high school. Those reports have been thoroughly investigated by the Guthrie Police Department and have not been found to be credible. Out of an abundance of caution, extra security was added at the school today. If anyone has new information regarding any threat to school safety, they should share that with the Guthrie Police Department as soon as possible.
Quote from Guthrie Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Mike Simpson: “I want to thank the Guthrie Police Department and the Logan County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance today in providing additional layers of security to assure student safety. We will continue to investigate any reports so we provide a safe learning environment for our students.”
