Teacher 2nd Grade
Hi, my name is Carmen Bartram and I'm so excited to be working with another AWESOME group of children this year. I have taught Kindergarten for nine years and this is my ninth year to teach Second Grade.
I have done the Native American tutoring program after school and have done summer school for many years. It is so rewarding when children finally understand something that was so challenging to them. As with any grade we have so much to learn, my goal is to make learning fun and enjoyable, and to let children know that it is OK to make mistakes. When we all work together, anything is possible!
On a more personal note, my husband and I live West of town on land that has been in his family since the Land Run of 1889. We have two very spoiled dogs, Shep and Shiner. I have one son "Lane". He graduated from Guthrie High School in 2017 and is now a Firefighter in Wichita, KS. I have lived in Guthrie most all my life and am a proud Bluejay graduate myself. Most of our family also lives in Guthrie, so there is no place I'd rather be. I enjoy spending time with family and friends, as well as reading, gardening, crafts, decorating, and supporting the Guthrie Bluejays and OSU Cowboys! If I can be of any assistance, feel free to email me or call. My planning is from 12:00-12:40, this is the best time to get in touch with me. Looking forward to a great school year!
