My name is Julie Murray and I teach co-taught 7th/8th grade Math on Team Acceptance. I am also one of the case managers for 8th grade students with IEPs. This is my 11th year at Guthrie Public Schools. My teaching career began in 1997 after graduating from the University of Central Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Arts in Education. I graduated from the University of Oklahoma with my Masters in Special Education with a Post Secondary Education and Employment Transition Specialist certification. In addition to teaching, I worked in the private sector as a compliance analyst as well as operated a business with my family. Additionally, I spent several years as a stay-at-home/work-at-home mom both in the US and in Scotland where I lived for a number of years raising my rather large family of 4 boys and 1 girl (The more the Murray-er). After returning to the U.S. in 2013, I chose to go into special education after personal life experiences inspired me begin working with individuals with disabilities. I enjoy working with struggling students and watching their growth in understanding of subject matter.
