A New Beginning
A wonderful, exciting new school year is about to begin! I am truly honored to be one of your student’s teachers, and as always I am looking forward to a new year. We will be utilizing online videos and assignments on a regular basis. Please be sure that you have access to a laptop, tablet, or computer as well as access to a reliable internet connection.
About Me
Hi there! My name is Monetta Fields and I am a mathematics educator with over 28 years of finance and teaching experience. I completed my course of study in mathematics at the University of Central Oklahoma and am certified to teach remedial math through Calculus AP, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, and Computer Applications. I love what I do and truly enjoy watching my students grow and deepen their understanding.
Personal Life
I was born and raised in Oklahoma, and despite the many alluring places I have visited, I have never lived outside the state's borders. I fell in love with my husband, David Fields, a Guthrie-born, Bluejay-bred man when I was only 15 years old, at the Logan County Stock Spring Stock Shows. We currently live on a 160-acre farm where we have cattle, guineas, chickens, and recently added goats, but have a hard time keeping cats around. Our two dogs think they run the farm, but we know better
Family
My husband and I have two sons, Alex and Lathan. Alex graduated from Guthrie in 2018 and had a strong involvement in Bluejay Wrestling and OK USA wrestling during his time there. After completing his studies at Cumberland University with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration and a minor in Exercise Science, he has returned to his alma mater in Guthrie to give back as a coach for Physical Education and wrestling. Lathan, on the other hand, has a beautiful little girl, Abby Dawn, and lives with his family in Edmond.
Hobbies
My activities typically revolve around my family, and I love taking photographs of wrestlers, especially Alex, and spend as much time as possible with my family, including fishing, riding motorcycles, dirt bikes, four-wheelers, shooting guns (and bows), and traveling.
