Welcome to Mr. Dobson's Home Page.  I am excited to be returning to Guthrie High School to teach Geometry.  I am not your average teacher.  Most of my adult like has been spent working as a finance executive in the oil and gas industry.  Let me tell you a little about myself.

I am from Coyle, OK and graduated from Coyle High School.  I attended OSU and got a degree in Mathematics Education.  I then switched to the Business School and earned an M.B.A. degree in finance.

After graduate school I spend 5 years in the Air Force.  I graduated from pilot school and then spend the next 4 years flying B-52 bombers in Vietnam.

After the military, I obtained my CPA and spent many years in the oil and gas industry.  My last job in the energy business was as CFO for Explorer Pipeline.  Explorer was is the second largest petroleum products pipeline in the US.

I retired from corporate finance in 2014 and moved back to Coyle and began a small cattle operation.  I am a high energy person and did not want to just stay home and watch my cattle grow.  I decided to go into teaching so I could give back to my community, utilize my undergraduate degree in mathematics, and have the summers off to work on my cattle operation.  So I started teaching at Coyle in 2015 as the only math teacher in the school.  I found that I really liked teaching and felt I could help my students be successful in college and the workforce.  I now look forward to working with students at Guthrie High School.

On a personal note, I am married to my wife, Jeanne.  We have four children and one grand daughter.
