Drop off and Pick Up Procedures:
Central Elementary's doors open at 7:30a.m. There will be a teacher either at the gate entrance or at the door when students are allowed to come into the building. For your child's safety, children can not come onto school property before 7:30 and wait unsupervised. Students will report to the gym in the mornings unless otherwise instructed by staff.
For the safety of all of our students please be courteous and follow the procedures in place and cooperate with teachers on duty. Always carry your identification with you, as you may be asked to show ID at any time during pick up by a teacher if you do not have your name plate displayed and/or are not recognized by a teacher on duty. Please do not get out of your vehicle to get your child if you are in the car rider pick up line. If you would like to park and walk up to get your student they will be identified as a walk up. Walk ups must be picked up at door 7. Do not call or motion for your child while teachers are loading other students. You must call the office and notify the school if someone other than those listed on the car rider tag is coming to pick them up. The sooner you are able to notify the office, the easier this makes it on their teacher and those on duty. If at all possible please let the Central office know of any changes by 2:00.
To drop off and pick up your students you need to head west down Cleveland Street where you will turn into our parking lot off of Cleveland. Please pull up as the teachers direct you to load your students. When dropping off your students please pull around the parking lot allowing them to exit by the entrance of the school, please do not pull up by the fence. If you wish to walk your student into the building or need to come into the school for any reason you must park in a parking space. When leaving the drop off or pick up lines do not go around another vehicle in line for any reason unless directed by a teacher on duty or our school resource officer. Pulling around vehicles in this line is extremely dangerous for our students loading or unloading their vehicles.
Teacher contract time ends at 3:30. Please be courteous and make every attempt to pick your child up by 3:30. Central staff recognizes that occasionally some delays may happen, if this occurs please notify the office so we can assure those on late duty as well as your child that their ride is on the way. If picking up late after 3:30, please park and walk to door number 4 on the East side of our building.
Walkers will be released promptly at 3:10 and walked to the corner of Cleveland and Ash. If you have a young student waiting on an older sibling or a parent to walk home they are considered a walk up. Walk up students are dismissed from door 7 until 3:30.
