Medical Detectives
I. Introduction to the class
Welcome to Medical Detectives! You will become medical detectives and solve medical mysteries through hands-on projects and labs. You will be able to apply experimental design, creative thinking, and problem solving to investigate how the human body works, diagnose disease, and improve human health.
II. Topics for semester:
a. Disease Detectives - discover how healthcare professionals act as medical detectives to identify, treat, and prevent illness in their patients.
b. Mysteries of the Human Body - explore the human body as a collection of body systems, with a focus on the nervous system.
c. Outbreak - this end of the unit problem will combine all skills learned to investigate a mysterious toxin that is endangering the health of a community.
