Faver School, home to Alternative Education via On-Campus Instruction and the BlueJay Academy!
our goal for the on-campus programs is to provide students an opportunity to complete their high school education in a structured, yet flexible, setting. Sound contradictory?? Through the alt ed on-campus program, we are allowed to have flexibility with our hours, thus allowing students to attend class and then work, take care of family, etc. The structured factor is apparent in that the time spent at school is very focused on the progression towards the completion of the credits necessary for the receipt of a high school diploma. Credit recovery is the goal!!
The BlueJay Academy is a virtual educational offering for students in grades 7-12. BlueJay Academy is free of charge to students accepted to the program. (Students must live in the GPS school district.) Students who apply and are accepted into the program will be able to take up to 100 percent of their courses online. Students will also have the option to take elective courses at the junior high or high school and be able to compete as a BlueJay.
My husband, Dee, serves as Technology Director for the District, and we have 2 sons and a beautiful daughter in law. Jay and Jordan are graduates of OSU-Stillwater and Jameson is a graduate of OSU-IT. Jay is a Pre-K teacher at Cotteral Elementary's Intergenerational Pre-K at Willow Creek, and his wonderful wife (also an OSU graduate) is a multimedia producer for the OSU Department of Wellness. Jameson is a Plant Operator with ONEOK. Over the summer we were blessed with a sweet granddaughter, Miss Juna.
Pathetically enough, we also dote on our 80-lb lap dog Miss Lily, kitty Mowgli, as well as the "nursing home cat" Sammie, and our two beautiful grand dogs.
I love reading, watching bull riding / rodeo, sewing when I have time, stage musicals, and fishing with my guys. My time on the lake is my "happy time." Naps are also very high on my priority list.
