Welcome to the 1st Grade!
My name is Dixie Shaffer and this is my 22nd year to teach 1st grade in Guthrie. I taught 2 years in OKC before coming back home to teach in the district where I grew up and graduated. I love teaching at Charter Oak Elementary!
I have been married to Randy for 28 years and we have a 26 year old daughter Bailey. Bailey graduated from Arkansas Tech University in 2019, where she played softball and studied Rehab Science and Psychology. She is currently working on her Master's Degree in Education. She will be teaching 2nd grade in Lavaca, Arkansas.
Randy and I have 4 dogs (rescue dogs have my heart), 2 cats and 15 chickens. We spend our weekends watching college football (Go Pokes!) and helping raise Red Angus on my parent's farm. We enjoy riding our mountain bikes, camping and fishing.
